Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
Sat Nam Readers!
I want to introduce you all to a personal hero of mine. Humble the Poet aka Kanwer Singh.
This guy has to be one of the most practical, non-judgmental, philosophers of our time. His heart is gold and his words even more so. When I think of the person that I want to be, besides the example of our Gurus, Humble is one of the people I imagine.
He also has a book out, which I personally think everyone should read if they can:
I think we all need support and encouragement in trying to be our ideals, right? Let’s face it, sometimes being Sikh or no matter your faith (or lack thereof), being a good human being is hard. I guess it’s meant to be. Humble is the guy for that support. He’s all about being a decent, kind and thoughtful human being, though also an imperfect one.
Want someone who is traveling this path with you? Humble’s right there. Seriously, whenever I feel a little stressed or down about this journey I’m on, the state of the world, the long litany of bad news items on at 11 on my television… Kanwerji is one of the guys I turn to for a boost in my faith in humanity.
You don’t have to be Sikh to appreciate Humble, you just have to be … human.
We don’t know one another and I’m not trying to sell his book (though seriously please read it). I know nothing about Kanwer Singh other than I find inspiration in him and I clearly see God in him. That inspiration, that sense of connection to God, is what I’m hoping to share. I hope you find it too!
