Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa
Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

Sat Nam Readers!

I am happy to announce that Born A Sikh now has a Facebook Page. https://www.facebook.com/BornASikh?focus_composer=true&ref_type=bookmark

What will you find there?  Well, the blog posts to begin with.  Each post on this blog has be reposted on Born A Sikh on Facebook.

Our aim is to share information about our faith with the hope that we extend knowledge and understanding to everyone.  Hopefully Sikhs will also have the opportunity to learn about people of other faiths as well.  The community is open to everyone, no matter their faith or other facets of their background.

With that in mind, you’ll also find articles about Sikhi, quotes from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, information about our Gurus, our faith and our practices.  We will sometimes talk about things that are controversial or, like 1984, have a lot of pain and emotion attached to them.  It’s good to talk about these things and have reasoned and respectful discussions about them.  That’s all we really ask.  If you are going to post there, please be respectful, thoughtful and kind to one another.  After all, the community is partly about developing understanding and finding ways to connect with one another.

Also, there aren’t just people of many backgrounds on that page willing to learn together, but there are people of all ages.  We simply ask that when you post, you are mindful that there are young people watching your example.

One thing you might find interesting are the quotes from non-Sikhs.  We intend to borrow from the wisdom of the collective human race to explain how, though Sikhs are unique and different, we are also very, very much the same.  I hope you will find those posts interesting to read and, in the end, I hope that they help in some small way, to build the bridges that will keep us connected, talking and united in the cause of good things.

Finally, we are not about hate in any form.  Hateful posts and comments will be removed and the writers of hateful posts will be blocked.  Feel free to disagree, to put forth a variety of points of view and to have free and frank discussions about all manner of controversial subjects but keep your mind open and leave the hate behind you.  We are all better than that after all.

Please feel free to come by and take a look.  Join in the discussions and meet some other awesome people.
